You’ve never seen a picture of my kitchen (at least I hope not) and I promise you there is a very good reason. We bought this house because of the location, layout and potential. We did not buy it because of the kitchen. It’s fine, it’s functional and its hid-e-ous. Yet, every time I think about renovating it I choose a different project. A kitchen remodel is overwhelming in every way. So many choices, so much time, so much mess and soooo much money. With the cost of kitchens these days you can do like 700 other house projects or one kitchen.
I dream of the day we’ll have the money to create our dream farmhouse style kitchen. Hopefully our kitchen will have white cabinets, dark floors, white and gray counters, shiplap and a farmhouse sink. But more importantly I just want the old kitchen gone! In the meantime I love looking at kitchen makeovers and wanted to share some of my favorites with you.
These reno’s are very special. Anyone can take a giant budget and a bunch of contractors and create a beautiful kitchen. It takes a very creative decorator to pull off a low budget makeover. These bloggers have created gorgeous farmhouse kitchens with very little money, some of them under $500! They took the kitchens they didn’t love and added unique ideas, paint, elbow grease, dedication and love. The results are fabulous.

I hope you enjoyed the tour of kitchens! These ladies are so talented and inspirational. I wish I could easily makeover my kitchen with a can of paint but sadly the layout needs to change. I hope I’ll be able to tackle the project as well as these bloggers and still do it cost effectively.

So many pretty kitchens to look at! Thanks so much for sharing at the #happynowlinkup!
Thank you Leslie!
I know what you mean, I also have a hideous kitchen. It is long overdue for a remodel. You showed some very nice examples of farmhouse kitchens.
Gosh — couldn’t pick one! They are all charming and inviting in their own way. We reno’d our kitchen as part of an overall home renovation – that we had done professionally. It is so critical to feel comfortable in your kitchen. I am lucky — it’s been 10 years and I still love it. Visiting from Over the Moon link party.
We are re-doing our kitchen this summer. Found you on Over the Moon Link Party.
Now that is a ton of inspiration. Love it!
I’m loving the Farmhouse style. I’m changing some of furnishings and décor, so the post is inspirational. Thanks for sharing on Sunday’s Best.
