We just got back from a glorious sunny vacation to the beach and it’s absolutely frigid outside. It’s supposed to snow this weekend which isn’t that unusual here, but its still sad for sun lovers like me. It’s a good time to catch up on my binge-watching and Christmas decor planning.
Pillows are one of the simplest ways to decorate your home and change it up. You can easily switch out pillows or pillow covers for holidays or seasons and you can find them almost anywhere in any price range. Homegoods, Marshalls, Christmas Tree Shops and Amazon all have options. But, when it comes to adorable cushions I don’t think those stores can compete with these farmhouse style fall pillows created by Etsy shop owners!
I picked up this cute little buffet through a Facebook ad a couple of years ago. I needed something in the dining room and wanted a buffet with intricate legs and farmhouse character. It was a distressed white finish when I bought it, and I liked it that way, but I needed a change so I just recently transformed it into this farmhouse style gray buffet.

I know, I know. You’re googling and looking all over Pinterest because you want reviews on the White Ikea Ektorp couch and chair so you can prove to your doubting family that it will be fine to buy one. Then you can buy your gorgeous White Ikea Couch and live in farmhouse heaven until eternity, because the bloggers said they are great, right? Or was that just me?
Well, I’m here to tell you my honest thoughts on the gorgeous White Ikea Ektorp furniture and in short……… I say don’t do it.
After installing this shelf during our laundry room makeover, a friend pointed out that it looks just like a restoration hardware wall shelf that costs hundreds of dollars . Of course I was thrilled. There’s nothing better than knowing I can help people save a ton of money. Our shelf was really cheap to make, and so simple to install. The board was around $5 and the plumbing pieces were a couple of dollars each (and they are cheaper if you buy in bulk). You can make this DIY Restoration Hardware wall shelf even if you don’t own a saw!
You may have noticed that I’ve become obsessed with lemons lately. I just love using the fruit in home decorating and I have been finding so much farmhouse lemon decor that I put it in a blog for you here. So I was so excited when Michelle from OurCraftyMom.com decided to make a lemon garland for our Crafts Under $25 series. I’ve been wanting one of these garlands for myself and she can make anything! I will be making one for myself and here are directions from Michelle that we can all follow to get this gorgeous tablescape!
Decorating your whole home can be overwhelming and incredibly expensive. If you shopped for every room of your house at a normal retail store it would literally cost you thousands of dollars. We are often asked where we find all of our bargains. So for those of you who love budget-friendly decor, I’m sharing some of my favorite places to find inexpensive home goods. I tried to stick with places that have a national presence so you find something where you live. I didn’t rank these because its just too hard. I love them all.
Here are my Top Ten Places to Shop Farmhouse Decor on a Budget:
I’m so in love with zesty farmhouse lemon decor (zesty pun intended). I’m not sure when my lemon obsession started. It could have been because I binge watched the cutest show, called Hart of Dixie, where a girl named Lemon was the character everyone loves to hate. Maybe it started when I tried the Meyer Lemon flavored frozen yogurt at Pinkberry. Even Meghan and Harry had lemon in their royal wedding cake! I want everything lemon; cakes, cookies, ice cream, drinks and especially lemons for decorating!
