My name is Michelle and I blog at Our Crafty Mom, a DIY/Home Decor and Craft Blog. I am thrilled to be back guest posting at Centsible Chateau today! Halloween is only a few weeks away so I am showing you just how easy it is to make a Fun Halloween Witch Wreath to greet all the little ghouls and goblins! Look at this adorable witch wreath hanging on my front door:
I just hung it this morning and the little girl who lives next door came over to tell me how much she liked it! The great thing about this wreath is most of the items were found at the Dollar Store! Let me show you how you can make this cute, inexpensive wreath in no time!
Halloween Witch Wreath Supplies
12″ Wire Frame
Black Deco Mesh
Assorted Ribbons-3 Different Designs
Black Pipe Cleaners
Bag of Eyeballs
Bag of Assorted Spider Rings
Skull Solar Lights-2
ALL OF THE ABOVE WERE FOUND AT THE DOLLAR STORE
Witch’s Legs-(Michael’s $1.79 each, but 50% off)
Purple & Orange Glitter Corkscrew Picks (Michael’s 1.99 each but 50% off)
Hot Glue Gun
First, wrap the green metal wreath base in ribbon. As the wreath may be visible through the deco mesh you want to cover the metal. I just add a drop of hot glue to the first piece and the last piece.
Now we are going to create the main base with the deco mesh. The easiest way to do this is to cut a piece 6″ long and tie a pipe cleaner around the center then attach it to the wreath form with the pipe cleaner.
Continue adding these 6″ pieces around the entire wreath. The easy thing about using the pipe cleaners is it’s so easy to layer the next ribbon on top. The pipe cleaner is long enough to add two layers. For the ribbon I actually just tie a bow nice and big so it will show. I love the contrast of the orange against the black.
Continue adding bunches of ribbon around the wreath. I used 4 bunches of each color until it was nice and full.
Finally, add the fun stuff! The eyeballs, the spider rings and finish it off with the witch’s hat and legs. At this point I always hang it on the wall to ensure that I am evenly adding the decorative pieces. The cool thing about the two skull heads is they are solar lights so at night this wreath will light up!! Perfect way to greet the trick or treaters!
