You may have noticed that I’ve become obsessed with lemons lately. I just love using the fruit in home decorating and I have been finding so much farmhouse lemon decor that I put it in a blog for you here. So I was so excited when Michelle from OurCraftyMom.com decided to make a lemon garland for our Crafts Under $25 series. I’ve been wanting one of these garlands for myself and she can make anything! I will be making one for myself and here are directions from Michelle that we can all follow to get this gorgeous tablescape!
Hello! I am excited to be back sharing a new project in the crafts under $25 series. This farmhouse style lemon garland is perfect for Summer and can be used in so many ways! I love how it looks in my Summer Lemon Tablescape, which you can see on my blog, Our Crafty Mom , next week. I hope you will stop by to check it out!
Lemon Decor is so trendy right now. It’s at all the home decor stores and in home decorating magazines. I was so inspired by Heather’s Zesty Lemon Decor post, that I decided to create this lemon garland. To save time and money, I purchased a pre-made leaf garland at the craft store. Let me show you how easy it is so you can make your own!
How To Make A Farmhouse Style Lemon Leaf Garland
Faux Lemons (small and large)
I love the darker leaves against the bright lemons. Start by placing the garland across the length of your table so you can plan where to add the lemons. Place the lemons in sets of 3 evenly across the garland until you are happy with the placement.
Use either hot glue, or E-6000 to attach the lemons to the garland. I attached them to the center stems of the garland, rather than the leaves. It is more secure and also looks more natural. You can add as many bunches as you like, but I wanted to have a nice mix of leaves and lemons, so I ended up using two bags of large lemons and one bag of small lemons. See how easy that was? I have seen lemon garlands for well over $40, so this is definitely a great way to get the look for less.
There are so many ways you can use this lemon garland. I could totally see it draped across a mantel, or hung over a doorway or window. In fact, I may use it for a Summer Mantel display next! How would you use it in your home?
To go with my lemon themed tablescape, I made a delicious Lemon Drop Martini that is so refreshing on a hot Summer night! Thank you Heather, for this fun crafts under $25 series. I always look forward to visiting Centsible Chateau!
